Thailand – The Kingdom of Fun

28.02.2027. - 13.03.2027.

STATUS: Open for Booking
This journey focuses on two completely different sides of Thailand: the energy, culture and organised chaos of Bangkok, followed by the tropical freedom of Phuket and the Andaman Sea. We move from golden temples, railway tracks and floating markets to limestone cliffs, turquoise water and some of Southeast Asia’s most famous islands. The programme includes the key experiences, while leaving enough free time to slow down, explore independently or simply enjoy the beach. It is a compact route with fewer hotel changes, stronger logistics and more time where it matters – in the destination, not on the road.

Description
The journey begins in Bangkok, a city where golden temples, royal traditions and centuries of history exist alongside rooftop bars, street-food stalls and restless urban energy. We explore its most important landmarks before leaving the city centre to experience the extraordinary Maeklong Railway Market and the canals of Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Those who want to go further can join an optional full-day excursion to the waterfalls of Erawan, the historic Bridge over the River Kwai and the ancient temples of Ayutthaya. From Bangkok, we fly south to Phuket and exchange city streets for tropical beaches and the clear waters of the Andaman Sea. Our days here combine free time and possibility of visiting three unforgettable islands: snorkelling among the Phi Phi Islands, exploring the limestone landscapes of Phang Nga Bay and discovering the white-sand beaches and underwater world of the Similan Islands. With fewer hotel changes and more time in each destination, the programme offers a balanced mix of culture, nature, adventure and relaxation. It is Thailand without unnecessary rushing. Two contrasting regions brought together into one complete journey.

Day 14

BANGKOK – ZAGREB

Day 1 - ZAGREB – BANGKOK

Flight from Zagreb to Bangkok (with a layover). The journey kicks off as we leave Europe behind and head toward Southeast Asia. Time to switch into travel mode – playlists on, expectations off, adventure loading. Overnight on the plane.

Day 2 - BANGKOK – temples, river, skyline

Arrival in Bangkok and transfer to the hotel. After check-in and time to recharge, we dive into a city that never really slows down – loud, colourful and alive at every corner.

We begin at the Grand Palace, where Thai royal history comes together in a burst of gold, colour and intricate detail. Within the complex, we visit the sacred Temple of the Emerald Buddha, one of the country’s most important religious sites. We continue to Wat Pho, one of Bangkok’s oldest temples, famous for its enormous reclining Buddha and its connection to traditional Thai massage.

Later, free time for lunch and a short rest. In the evening, Bangkok reveals a different face. We may go out again to experience the Chao Phraya River and finish above the city at one of Bangkok’s rooftop bars (supplement). Skyline, lights and a proper first night in Thailand. Overnight in Bangkok.

Day 3 - BANGKOK – Markets

Breakfast. Today we leave central Bangkok and head into the countryside for two of Thailand’s most distinctive market experiences.

First stop: Maeklong Railway Market. Stalls sit directly beside the tracks, and when the train approaches, awnings and displays disappear within seconds – only to return as soon as it has passed. It is a precise, chaotic and completely authentic part of everyday life.

We continue to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and explore its canals by boat. Vendors trade from traditional boats loaded with fruit, snacks and local products, while the waterways reveal a side of Thailand shaped by the river. Return to Bangkok in the afternoon. The evening is free; Chinatown is an excellent choice for street food, neon and a final wander through the city’s organised chaos. Overnight in Bangkok.

Day 4 - BANGKOK – free or optional tour

Breakfast. Free day in Bangkok or join an optional early-start excursion combining nature, history and some of Thailand’s most important landmarks. This is a long and ambitious day with considerable driving time, designed for travellers who want to experience as much as possible. In case of joining the tour, breakfast on the way.

Our first stop is Erawan National Park, famous for its seven-tiered waterfall, emerald pools and lush jungle surroundings. We follow the forest trail between the lower levels of the waterfall, with time for a refreshing swim, depending on weather and park conditions.

We then continue to Kanchanaburi and the historic Bridge over the River Kwai. Built as part of the Thailand–Burma Railway during the Second World War, the bridge remains one of the region’s most recognisable landmarks and a powerful reminder of its difficult past.

The final stop is Ayutthaya, the former capital of the Siamese Kingdom and today a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We explore selected temple ruins, including Wat Mahathat and its famous Buddha head entwined within tree roots. Depending on the available time, we may also visit Wat Phra Si Sanphet, once the most important temple within the royal palace complex. Late return to Bangkok and overnight.

Day 5 - BANGKOK – PHUKET

Breakfast and transfer to the airport for our domestic flight to Phuket. We leave the energy and organised chaos of the capital behind and switch into a completely different rhythm: warmer, slower and built around the sea.

After arrival, transfer to the hotel and check-in. The rest of the day is free to settle in and get your first taste of island life. Head to the beach for a swim, explore the surroundings, enjoy a sunset drink or simply relax at the hotel after the journey.

In the evening, we can go out for dinner and discover Phuket’s lively atmosphere, from local restaurants and night markets to beach bars and nightlife. No fixed plans and no pressure – this is just the beginning of our time in southern Thailand. Welcome to the Andaman coast. Overnight in Phuket.

Day 6 - PHUKET – free or optional tour

Breakfast. Today is free to enjoy Phuket at your own pace. Relax by the pool, head to the beach or join an optional full-day boat excursion to the legendary Phi Phi Islands, a tropical archipelago of dramatic limestone cliffs, turquoise water and hidden coves.

Those joining the excursion will explore selected locations around the islands, combining swimming, snorkelling and time on the beach. Beneath the surface, colourful tropical fish and coral reefs reveal another side of the Andaman Sea. Depending on the confirmed route and local conditions, the programme may include some of the archipelago’s best-known bays, lagoons and viewpoints.

There will also be time to relax and enjoy the landscapes that made the Phi Phi Islands famous around the world. The exact stops depend on weather, sea conditions, conservation rules and instructions from local authorities.

Lunch is provided as part of the optional boat programme. Return to Phuket in the afternoon. The evening is free for dinner, drinks or a relaxed night at the hotel. Overnight in Phuket.

Day 7 - PHUKET – free or optional tour

Breakfast. No fixed plans today. Sleep longer, head to the beach, explore Phuket Old Town, book a massage or simply do nothing – this is your day to reset.

Optional Canoe Day Tour: explore the caves, lagoons and dramatic limestone formations of Phang Nga Bay by canoe. Depending on the operating programme, guests paddle independently or travel with an experienced canoe guide. Transfers, equipment, refreshments and lunch are generally included; final inclusions will be confirmed before departure. Return to Phuket in the late afternoon. Overnight in Phuket.

Day 8 - PHUKET – free or optional tour

Breakfast. Today is free to enjoy Phuket at your own pace. Spend the day at the beach, relax by the pool, explore the island independently or join an optional full-day excursion to Phang Nga Bay, available at an additional cost.

Those joining the excursion will discover one of southern Thailand’s most spectacular seascapes, where towering limestone formations rise dramatically from the water, creating a landscape of caves, mangroves and sheltered lagoons.

The boat programme includes a visit to the area around James Bond Island. Depending on the confirmed route, the journey may continue by long-tail boat through mangrove channels and include a visit to a local sea community. Lunch is generally provided as part of the optional excursion, with time to relax and enjoy the scenery before returning to Phuket. Evening free. Overnight in Phuket.

Day 9 - PHUKET – free or optional tour

Breakfast. Another free day gives you space to shape Phuket your way. Choose beach time, cafés and viewpoints, explore Phuket Old Town, visit a beach club or save your energy for the evening.

For those looking for nightlife, Patong and Bangla Road deliver Phuket at full volume. Those after a slower pace can choose a sunset viewpoint, dinner by the sea or an early night before tomorrow’s island adventure. Overnight in Phuket.

Day 10 - PHUKET – free or optional tour

Breakfast. Today is free to relax and enjoy Phuket at your own pace or join an optional full-day snorkelling excursion to the Similan Islands, available at an additional cost.

Those joining the excursion will have an early departure with a breakfast box. We travel north to the departure pier before continuing by speedboat towards the Similan Islands, known for their white-sand beaches, granite rock formations and exceptionally clear water.

The day combines snorkelling, swimming and selected island stops. Marine life may include colourful reef fish and sea turtles, although wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed. Lunch and standard snorkelling equipment are generally provided as part of the optional excursion. Return to Phuket in the late afternoon or early evening. Overnight in Phuket.

Important: excursions to the Similan Islands operate only during the official open season and remain subject to national park regulations, availability, weather and sea conditions. If the islands are closed, information about other available optional excursions will be provided.

Day 11 - PHUKET – free or optional tour

Breakfast. No fixed plans today. Sleep in, head to the beach, explore Phuket Old Town, book a massage or simply do nothing—this is your day to reset.

Optional Koh Yao Noi Bike Tour: discover the quieter side of Thailand as we cycle around the island, passing through local villages, lush jungle and tropical landscapes. We finish the ride at a beautiful beach, where we enjoy lunch at a local beach bar before returning to Phuket in the late afternoon.

Overnight in Phuket.

Day 12 - PHUKET – free or optional tour

Breakfast. The day is yours to enjoy Phuket without a schedule. Find a quiet spot by the pool, spend a few hours on the beach, explore the island independently or follow the day wherever it takes you.

Optional Elephant Sanctuary Tour: visit an ethical elephant sanctuary in Phuket and learn more about these remarkable animals, their behaviour and their individual stories. Observe the elephants in a natural and respectful environment, help prepare their food and enjoy the opportunity to see them up close—without riding or forced performances. Return to the hotel after the experience.

Overnight in Phuket.

Day 13 - PHUKET – BANGKOK

Breakfast. Free morning for one last walk along the beach, a relaxing massage or a final coffee by the sea. In the afternoon, we fly to Bangkok, where we connect with our onward flight to Europe.

We say goodbye to Thailand—for now.

Day 14 - BANGKOK – ZAGREB

We continue our journey towards Zagreb. This isn’t goodbye, just a little time apart until our next adventure together.
